Credits & Billing
SentientOne is prepaid. There are no plans or subscriptions: every feature is open to every account, and you buy credits when you need them. 1 credit is 1 agent reply.
What spends credits
- Agent replies · 1 creditEvery reply from an agent, wherever it's asked: the Playground, the widget, the public API, and the Agent, Classify, Extract and Guardrail blocks in workflows.
- Documents · 5 credits per pageCharged when the document is added, by its page count.
- Website pages · 5 credits per pageCharged for every page crawled. A re-crawl spends credits again.
- Q&A pairs and snippets · 1 credit eachCharged when you add them.
Credits are spent, not borrowed: deleting knowledge doesn't give them back. Streaming, agents, MCP servers, workflows, analytics and tracing are all included, with unlimited agents and MCP servers. Your LLM tokens are billed by your provider on your own key (see LLM Keys).
Free credits and packs
Every new account gets 200 free credits, once, with no card needed. After that, buy a pack:
| Credits | Price | Per credit | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $10 | $0.010 | — |
| 5,000 | $45 | $0.009 | 10% off |
| 25,000 | $200 | $0.008 | 20% off |
| 100,000 | $700 | $0.007 | 30% off |
Buy in Settings → Billing. Payment happens in a Stripe checkout panel inside the app, and the credits are added as soon as it goes through. Every payment is listed under Receipts with Stripe's receipt and, for packs, the invoice PDF.
Auto top-up
Off by default. Turn it on in Billing to say "when my balance falls below X credits, buy pack Y", using the card on file, at the same price as buying the pack yourself. A monthly spending cap limits how much it can buy; when the cap is reached it stops until next month and emails you.
If the card is declined, or your bank wants you to confirm the payment, auto top-up pauses, nothing is charged, and we email you. Update the card or buy a pack by hand, then turn it back on.
When you run out
At 0 credits, agents stop replying and adding knowledge is paused. API requests return HTTP 402:
{
"error": {
"code": "OUT_OF_CREDITS",
"message": "You're out of credits. Buy credits to continue.",
"balance": 0,
"buy_url": "/settings?tab=billing"
}
}Ingestion endpoints return the same code with needed, the credits the content would take. See Error Codes. Rate limits are separate: every agent defaults to 60 requests a minute (Rate Limits).
Emails we send
- Low balanceWhen your balance falls to 50 credits on the free credits, or to 20% of your last pack after a purchase.
- Out of creditsWhen your balance reaches 0 and agents stop replying.
- ReceiptAfter every pack you buy.
- Auto top-upWhen an automatic top-up goes through, when it fails, and when it reaches this month's cap.
Usage
The Usage tab in Settings shows credits spent per day. The Billing tab keeps the full history: every grant, purchase, top-up and day of spending, with the balance after each.
